So I have found having an objective view of my work does make a difference. People who know the writer can help but someone who doesn’t know your personal baggage and isn’t afraid to say “this sucks”, in a nice way of course, can make a difference. My Editor did a great job of suggesting changes. She caught some of the repetitive use of phrases that I could not see myself. She changed some sentence structure making the read flow better. and the more I read her edits, the more I understand the difference between editing my own work and having a third, un-invested party do it.
